Each one of us have been given a measure of faith. It may be as small as a mustard seed, but the tree that grows out of that seed is strong, a shelter to many, and provides for many. Faith is essential if you are to please God, for it is by faith, you were saved, it is by faith, your sins were forgiven, it is by faith you believe in the Sovereign God, and it is by faith you can go on one day at a time.
The just shall live by faith. When trials and temptations come your way, when tears and pain overwhelm you, when the pressures of this world cause you to doubt and despair, when nothing seems to make sense, when all your plans have been thwarted and end up in a failure, when the Lord seems to be silent and does not seem to answer your prayers, it is by faith you can go forward.
Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. The word of God has answers to every situation you are stuck in. Have you lost hope? Have you given up your faith? Read the word of God, for His word instils in your hope, faith and courage like none else can. His word is a lamp unto your feet and a light unto your path. It flourishes and nutures in you a faith that is strong through the storms.
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17
